Seasons

Would be great, but how to have that in-game ? Whuch duration ?
4 seasons is meaningful for temperate biomes, but tropical/desert are more like dry/wet season.
Main effects would be visual and on agriculture, but it may complicate things

Xavier Weber That's a good question, it would be a pretty complicated concept. I'm not sure which duration would be reasonable for one season. Imagine it like this though: because of higher pollution, you get less snow in the winter from the higher earth temperature. and in summer when it gets too warm, plants die easier, when not in the right biome. dessert could spread over time from the rising temperatures. what do you think?

Erik Kiszely I like the idea of biome evoluting through time and gameplay, modeling concepts like deforestation, urbanization, warming effect.
If we have like 1 day = 1 season (so people connecting same hour every day could enjoy the changes), it will mean some impact on cultures, with plants having a preferred season.
It should also be different throughout the world, since we have a whole planet, and that's an issue in Eco because there is no North/South : you loop on X and Z coordinates, it is not a sphere, so you cannot have a tropical section, temperate and cold bands.
