It feels like a bit of an odd choice that nearly all lights need to be in rooms. It must be very dark where you all live :)

Sorry, joking aside, can we please use lights outside of rooms.

Lights function outdoors again in Update 10.2 - this is due to the implementation of parts of the outdoor housing system which itself is NOT part of Update 10.2.

Currently, most lights need to be inside of a room to be turn on. It would be nice to be able to have the lights turn on outside even if they don't provide any xp bonus. it would give more possibilities for builders!

This is a technical limitation due to them being housing objects. We plan to introduce outdoor rooms eligible for housing points in the near future, which will allow functional lights outside again.
