Wire Electricity/Power

You should be able to RP as an electrician that can build power lines, power stations, connect power across the map etc.

Batteries for flashlight/torch and other potential small electronics.

I believe the same system is also planned for household water services too, so that toilets will require some kind of waterbox hookup. Please do make it happen if this happens to be forgotten off the list.
Mr. Roboto
this will be cool, you have a working tethering system that can be used with the example of the moorage posts.

We do plan to rework the electricity system to no longer work wireless, but only until it reaches a building, where distribution is intended via a connecting powerstation, that will supply all machinery inside buildings.
DarkMukke
Dennis Scholz: what is considered a building though ? is that connecting rooms ? as a "building" mechanic doesn't really exist in Eco as of now
D
Dennis Scholz
DarkMukke: Correct.
Mr. Roboto
Dennis Scholz: I think the biggest thing is to choose what poles connect to to prevent people from dropping down a transmission pole close enough to yoink power into another grid. This would then allow for towns to "rent" or sell the connection, or decide on who can connect to the power grids that exist. It will take folks just a moment longer to connect the two poles together but the converse is power arbitrarily connecting to any pole in range which is not good.
If you could do something where it notices the influence or ownership is different than the prior owner or culture that is great, so then you only have to manually link poles where the influence changes.

Dennis Scholz
Mr. Roboto: That is already planned, as part of what will address this suggestion: https://eco.canny.io/feature-suggestions/p/selling-powerelectricity
Praefator
Dennis Scholz will there be multiple options to transfer power between buildings? .e.g. a transformer from generator to a high voltage line (like in the attached picture), to another transformer making it useful for the end-user?
Additionally, would like to see options to have the 'final' wiring be able to be wired underground rather than above ground, to mimic the Dutch norm and go for a more 'clean' way of delivering utilities? For added realism this underground infrastructure could extend to things like gas lines, to have the full suite of power, water, sewage and gas under town roads

Praefator This is a "Planned" feature, means the design for it has not started yet, which starts with "In Progress" - what you suggest would hence be possible, but the amount of complexity of the system hasn't been determined yet.
Praefator
Dennis Scholz I see, fair enough
